Sound Journey Healing Workshop, Christchurch 2020
September 27, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm
$70 – $80
Reconnect to source.
All day experiential workshop with Sika.
Sika holds a safe space for us to drop into relaxation, to enter a magical world of sound and silence. A series of healing Sound Journeys throughout the day will invoke a primal memory, a gateway for reconnection to ourselves, to earth and to great mystery.
Sika plays empathically in-the-moment, as his beloved collection of natural instruments open him and us to spirit. Didgeridoo, drums, native flutes, rattles and Māori taonga puoro (‘singing treasures’). His deep sonorous voice also adds to the soundscapes, as do foraged natural objects like leaves, sticks, bones and shells.
Sika has been offering Sound Journeys for 25 years. Based in New Zealand, he is recognised by significant Māori, Native American and Aboriginal elders, including the Yuin tribe of South Australia.
Sound Journeys are a shamanic style of sound bath. Like most gong/sound baths, people generally lie down and relax to the healing sounds. But the Sound Journey really is a ‘journey’ – a powerful inner experience. Workshop participants will also feel the physical vibration of the didgeridoo, as Sika moves around the space while playing.
The day will combine:
• Live Sound Journeys
• Time for personal reflection / journaling
• Wisdom teachings
• Sharing together as a group
Some prior experience of meditation is helpful but not necessary. If you feel called to attend it will be a pleasure to welcome you.

Getting to the venue:
The Sanctuary is located at 638 Oxford Road, Fernside (8 minutes from Rangiora)
Look for the large wooden sign at the front gate.
If coming from Christchurch on the motorway … take the first left over the Waimakariri River bridge .. this is Tram Road.
Travel on Tram Road until you pass Swannanoa School then turn right on to Two Chain Road. Stay on this road until the end of the road (note there is a name change and a few curves to this road but stay on it ) then turn left into Oxford Road.
