Sika Sound Journey, Takaka 2020
November 27 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm$20
Offering regular Sound Journeys in Golden Bay this Spring-Summer
An evening of dreaming and deep relaxation at Kotinga Hall. Bring snuggly things to sit or lie down.
“A mesmerising experience. Earthy yet otherworldly.”
Sika is known internationally for his unique sound journeys and concerts. Lie back and listen to his beautiful collection of natural instruments, including several didgeridoos, drums, native flutes, rattles… foraged objects such as leaves, stones, bones and shells… and nature recordings from the Australian and New Zealand bush. The haunting ‘voices’ of unfamiliar instruments such as Aztec whistles and Māori Taonga pūoro add to the sense of mystery and help us enter meditative, wordless states.
What to bring?
Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow or anything else you need to sit or lie down comfortably. A water bottle and a journal are also recommended.
There will be two journeys with an interval in between. Doors open 7.15pm. Please arrive ready to start at 7.30pm.
